Gardening Events
Holy Cross offers free, public, community-wide educational programs related to sustainable gardening and food literacy and nutrition. You do not have to be a Holy Cross Health community gardener or a Holy Cross Health volunteer to participate in events.
- Events are open to the public at no cost
- Event topics may include:
- Seasonal garden activities (planting, weeding, harvesting, etc.)
- Organic pest management
- Nutrition, food demonstrations, and samples featuring health-focused recipes and foods typically given out at distributions, such as canned goods
- Composting and soil health
- Seed starting and greenhouse use
- Wellness and community-building activities
- Container growing and growing in a small space
- Sessions are hands-on and offer chances to ask questions, learn new skills, and meet other gardeners and community members. These events help us strengthen community relationships and support gardening and eating sustainably.
