Holy Cross offers free, public, community-wide educational programs related to sustainable gardening and food literacy and nutrition. You do not have to be a Holy Cross Health community gardener or a Holy Cross Health volunteer to participate in events.

  • Events are open to the public at no cost
  • Event topics may include:
    • Seasonal garden activities (planting, weeding, harvesting, etc.)
    • Organic pest management
    • Nutrition, food demonstrations, and samples featuring health-focused recipes and foods typically given out at distributions, such as canned goods
    • Composting and soil health
    • Seed starting and greenhouse use
    • Wellness and community-building activities
    • Container growing and growing in a small space
  • Sessions are hands-on and offer chances to ask questions, learn new skills, and meet other gardeners and community members. These events help us strengthen community relationships and support gardening and eating sustainably.
