Holy Cross Health is seeking to uncover the names of talented individuals who would bring diverse talent and enthusiasm to and enhance the effectiveness of its boards of directors and board committees, which provide governance oversight for Holy Cross Hospital, Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, Holy Cross Health Network and Holy Cross Health Foundation.
Located on the Kevin J. Sexton Campus of Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, Md., Holy Cross Hospital was founded in 1963 by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross and is a member of Trinity Health in Michigan, one of the nation’s largest Catholic health care systems. Holy Cross Hospital also is one of the largest hospitals in Maryland. Holy Cross Germantown Hospital opened in 2014 on the Germantown campus of Montgomery College and is the first new hospital in Montgomery County since 1979. Holy Cross Health Network operates four primary care health centers for vulnerable and underinsured adults and manages community health activities and relationships with physicians and insurers. Holy Cross Health Foundation was established in 2006 as a separate corporation with a separate board focused on philanthropic outreach and fundraising to improve health in the community.
Selection Criteria
The Nominating Committee is emphasizing the following criteria:
- Ethnic and racial diversity
- Geographic representation, especially from the Gaithersburg and Germantown area
- Particular expertise in clinical quality and patient safety, physician engagement, finance, workforce excellence, community benefit and population health
- For the Foundation board, interest and expertise in identifying and cultivating potential donors and corporate sponsors
- Visible/active local resident
- Executive and board experience
- Ability to attend regular meetings
