COURSE DESCRIPTION

This program is intended to benefit all providers who care for patients with neuroscience disorders, including primary care providers. It is designed to enhance provider performance and to supply participants with relevant and up- to- date knowledge and skills for managing neuroscience patients. This year we have a different variety of topics with a Women’s Health focus in Stroke, Epilepsy, Neurology, Neuro-Oncology, Radiology, Neurological Rehab, and Neurosurgery.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

• Identify available treatments for each neurological and neurosurgical topic covered in this symposium

• Bring together experts in a range of neuroscience related specialties to provide brain care for different brain conditions

• Explore and understand latest evidence-based interventions and assessment strategies incorporated within the neurological-based plan of care

Course Description

Holy Cross Health Neuroscience CME | October 10, 2020

This program is intended to benefit all providers who care for patients with neuroscience disorders, including primary care providers. It is designed to enhance provider performance and to supply participants with relevant and up-to-date knowledge and skills for managing neuroscience patients. Topics include stroke diagnosis and treatment, artificial intelligence in radiology, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, spine, minimally invasive and incisionless brain surgery, and latest innovation in rehabilitation therapy. The panelists per session will speak for 30 minutes each, followed by a panel discussion at the end of the symposium.

Educational Objectives

The goals of the conference are to help participants:

Understand the risks and outcomes of the most up to date diagnostic and therapeutic options available to patients with specific neuroscience conditions such as stroke diagnosis and treatment, artificial intelligence (AI) in radiology, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), spine, and minimally and incisionless brain surgery.
Improve patient management processes and outcomes through collaborative education with physicians and the entire health care team, and enhance the understanding of neuroscience diagnoses, treatments and post care.
Improve patient care and outcomes based on evidence-based practice guidelines for specific neuroscience conditions.

Holy Cross Health Neuroscience CME | November 20, 2021

Holy Cross Health offers the most current technologies and a full range of neuroscience capabilities. Our neuroscience experts perform advanced procedures such as deep brain stimulation, endovascular coiling and stenting of brain aneurysms, microsurgery of the brain and spine, stereotactic radiosurgery, MRI-guided laser ablation (Visualase^®), and more. Holy Cross Hospital has a dedicated Neuro Critical Care Unit, a bi-plane neuro-interventional suite and a NAEC level 3 Epilepsy Center.

Holy Cross Hospital and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital are both designated as Primary Stroke Centers by the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS). In 2021, both hospitals received Get with the Guidelines^®- Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA), and Holy Cross Hospital received the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Award, from the AHA/ASA.
