Elham Ghayouri-Azar, MD

Elham Ghayouri, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician
who has been practicing in Montgomery County, Maryland since 2015.
She joined Holy Cross Health Partners in 2021, bringing her dedication and
enthusiasm for patient care to the Kensington practice.

Dr. Ghayouri takes a holistic approach to patient care, rather than
focusing on physical well-being alone. She addresses the social and
emotional aspects of health to provide care for the whole person.

Dr. Ghayouri chose to practice primary care medicine “because
diagnosing and treating patients engages a broad range of skills,” she says.
“I look at health problems as a puzzle to be solved, working with patients to
collect information, determine a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. Seeing
my patients feel better and helping them continue to improve and manage their
health over time is very rewarding for me.”

Dr. Ghayouri graduated from the prestigious Tehran University
of Medical Sciences, the most competitive medical school in Iran,
and completed her residency training in internal medicine at
Mercy Health (Northeast Ohio Medical University).
Before joining Holy Cross Health Partners, she was a primary
care physician with Kaiser Permanente.

In her free time, Dr. Ghayouri likes to listen to music, travel, paint
with her young daughter and visit museums with friends
and her husband, who is also a physician.
