Holy Cross Hospital was ranked fourth (4th) in the Washington, D.C., metro area and sixth (6th) out of the 70 hospitals in the state of Maryland. This ranking makes Holy Cross Hospital the highest ranked Maryland hospital in the Washington, D.C., metro area and also the top ranked hospital in Montgomery County.

This is the 25th year that U.S. News & World Report has issued national hospital rankings which are updated every July. Holy Cross Hospital ranked as high performing in nine adult specialties, including neurology and neurosurgery, geriatrics, cancer, gynecology, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, nephrology, pulmonology and urology.

Neurology and Neurosurgery


The comprehensive neuroscience program at Holy Cross Hospital includes a team of highly skilled neurosurgeons and a cadre of specially trained neuroscience experts. Diabetes and Endocrinology


The Diabetes Program at Holy Cross Hospital offers multidisciplinary instruction in diabetes management. Our program has received recognition from the American Diabetes Association for quality self-management education. The program is staffed by a registered nurse who is a certified diabetes educator, a registered dietitian and a board-certified endocrinologist experienced in the care and treatment of this disease. We also offer a specialized diabetes education program to teach self-management techniques to mothers-to-be in personalized, one-on-one sessions. Through the Holy Cross Gestational Diabetes Program, women with gestational diabetes are able to meet with a certified nurse diabetes educator and dietitian.
