Silver Spring, MD, February 12, 2025 – The Holy Cross Health Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of three members to its Board of Directors — Janel Hino, MD, John J. Matteo and Corrine P. Parver.
Janel Hino, MD is a founding member of Community Neonatal Associates and has been practicing at Holy Cross Health since 1998. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and has a master’s degree in chemistry from American University. Dr. Hino was a chemist for several years before obtaining her MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed both her pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC
John J. Matteo is a Shareholder/Director and former President of Jackson & Campbell, P.C. in Washington, D.C. With 30 years of experience representing companies, non-profit organizations and closely held businesses, John concentrates his practice on business and commercial legal matters, including those arising in healthcare and real estate transactions. He currently chairs the Firm’s Business and Employment Law Practice Groups and serves as the Interim Chair of the Trusts & Estates Practice Group. In addition to his legal career John has served on several non-profit boards and has been a pro bono advisor to several charities, including those in the health care field. John received his J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and his B.A. from Fordham University.
Corrine Propas Parver completed her legal education at American University Washington College of Law (cum laude) in 1982, where she served as an Assistant Editor of The Law Review. A distinguished legal career focused primarily on health law followed, including her serving as partner and head of the Health Law Services Practice at the Washington, D.C., law firm Dickstein Shapiro, from which she retired in 2004. After retiring from the practice of law, Parver established what is now the Health Law and Policy Program at American University Washington College of Law, where she sits on its Alumni Advisory Council. She also serves as the Board Secretary of the nonprofit, nonpartisan Jewish Electorate Institute, and President of Women Lawyers On Guard Action Network. She has extensively published, testified before Congressional Committees, and lectured in the United States and Canada on health care topics during her career.
