Medicaid Eligibility
- Open enrollment is year-round, but you must re-apply annually to maintain coverage.
- Age 18-64 (or Maryland Children's Health Program, if under 18)
- Must be a legal permanent resident of Maryland, living in the U.S. for more than five years. However, pregnant women and children who are legally residing are Medicaid-eligible regardless of time in the US.

Qualified Health and Dental Plans through Maryland Health Connection
- Must be lawfully present resident of Maryland
- Under the age of 65
Qualifying life events that may allow you to enroll in coverage outside of Open Enrollment:
- Getting married or divorced
- Having a child, adopting a child, or placing a child for adoption or in foster care
- Certain changes in income
- Moving to or from Maryland, and moving within the state
- Having a change in disability status
- Gaining or losing a dependent
- Certain losses of other health coverage (such as employer ending coverage, or loss of job or employee leaving a job that provides coverage, but not termination because you didn’t pay your plan premium)
- Becoming ineligible for Medicaid or MCHP
- Turning 26 years old if you are enrolled in coverage through your family’s plan
- COBRA coverage period ends

How to Enroll
Maryland Health Connection is the state's marketplace where residents can compare health insurance options, apply for coverage, and enroll in Medicaid, qualified health plans, and qualified dental plans. Open enrollment has ended but you can apply for Medicaid year-round and enroll if you've had a major life change.

For each family members who need coverage:
- Social security numbers or immigration/citizen status documents
