Natalie Krupka - Volunteer
Natalie's Spirit of Giving
Through Friends of Holy Cross Health
-Natalie Krupka
Natalie Krupka, 72, taught technology in Catholic elementary schools for 30 years. After a rewarding career, she wasn’t about to slow down, but also didn’t want to be tied to a regular schedule. Natalie became a volunteer with the Friends of Holy Cross Health, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to raising funds to support Holy Cross Health, and is loving it.
“It’s a lot of fun!” says Natalie. “I help with membership coordination by maintaining the computer records, which allows me to use skills from my old job.”
Natalie expected that she would enjoy the opportunity to give back to her community. What she didn’t expect was the social benefit of volunteering for the Friends of Holy Cross Health, which also sponsors activities for its members, including luncheons and trips. “It is a pleasure being with this active group,” says Natalie.
Originally formed in 1963 as the Auxiliary of Holy Cross Hospital, the organization recently changed its name to the Friends of Holy Cross Health. Volunteers raise money through proceeds from the gift shops at Holy Cross Hospital and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, bake sales and many other activities. In its more than 50 years of service, Friends of Holy Cross Health has donated over $13 million.
