Matthew Robert Johnston, MD

Matthew Johnston, MD, is a compassionate, community-minded family medicine physician. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada in 2012, followed by an internship at the Port of Spain General Hospital under the University of the West Indies Faculty of Medicine from 2013 to 2014, and finished his Family Medicine residency at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in 2025.

Dr. Johnston’s philosophy of care is rooted in holistic treatment, recognizing that physical health is just one component of overall wellness. He emphasizes preventive medicine and believes in meeting patients where they are in their health journey—collaborating with them to create realistic, personalized treatment plans that support long-term health and well-being.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Johnston leads an active life filled with diverse interests. He enjoys basketball, rugby, football and soccer, and is an avid gamer and podcast listener. A proud Lego collector and sneaker enthusiast, his ever-growing sneaker collection is often on display during clinic days. As a devoted parent to three young children, he cherishes family travel and the adventures they share together.
