German Guillermo Tampe, MD

German Tampe, MD, is a board-certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist with more than two decades of experience delivering high-quality, accurate interpretations in fast-paced clinical environments. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Howard University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident for two consecutive years. Dr. Tampe went on to complete a fellowship in Body Imaging at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, solidifying his expertise across advanced imaging modalities.

Before joining Holy Cross Health, Dr. Tampe spent 17 years at Luminis Health Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland, where he served as a senior diagnostic radiologist with interventional responsibilities. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of imaging, including MRI, CT, PET, mammography, ultrasound and plain films. Dr. Tampe has special proficiency in breast imaging and procedures such as biopsies, drainages, and line placements guided by ultrasound, stereo, CT and fluoroscopy.

Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Tampe is known for his precision, efficiency and collaborative communication with referring physicians. His commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement reflects both his clinical excellence and his passion for education, underscored by a master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University.
