Edward J. Willard joins Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic as chief strategy and business development officer

PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 30, 2025) — Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic has named Edward J. Willard, MBA, as its new chief strategy and business development officer, effective Nov. 3.

Willard brings more than two decades of experience in health care strategy, business development, physician integration and market expansion. In this new regional role, he will oversee strategic planning, business development and physician alignment initiatives across Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, driving growth opportunities that expand patient access, enhance care quality and strengthen the organization’s financial sustainability.

Most recently, Willard served as market director of strategy for Dignity Health’s Arizona and Nevada division. There, he led the development of new service lines and centers of excellence – including cardiology, bariatrics, digestive disease, orthopedics, robotics and hernia care – while evaluating mergers, partnerships and campus expansion projects. He also collaborated closely with physicians to improve efficiencies, expand referral networks and support sustainable financial growth.

Earlier in his career, Willard held executive business development roles with Intellimed, Guidepoint Global, and Gerson Lehrman Group, successfully launching health care consulting and analytics platforms across the North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe regions. He also has extensive experience as a consultant for health care startups, providing strategic planning, capital development and growth analysis.
