Following an extensive search, I am eager to announce that we have selected Doreen Coburn as our next Chief Human Resources Officer. Doreen’s first day will be Wednesday, August 23. Some of her responsibilities include serving as an advisor on leadership development, talent acquisition, performance management, organizational alignment, training, culture, colleague engagement, and overall support of the Human Resources department.
Doreen has over 20 years of executive experience in health care human resources. She has led human resources efforts at hospitals, ambulatory care centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and in the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Holy Cross Health, Doreen’s leadership roles include serving as Vice President of Human Resources at Vail Health in Colorado, Director of Human Resources at Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Texas, Senior Vice President of Operations at Charter Oak Health Center in Connecticut, and Director of Human Resources at Cornell Scott Hill Health Center also in Connecticut.
Doreen received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business management from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. Her certifications include a SHRM Certified Professional and a Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resources Management, an Associate Professional in Talent Management, a Six Sigma Green Belt, and holds a Mediator certification.
In her spare time, Doreen enjoys spending time with her family. She is also a proud dog mom of two, Jazzy (Yorkie) and Pinky (Miniature Schnauzer).
