Holy Cross Health is proud to announce that Support Our Aging Religious (SOAR), a nonprofit organization that raises funds and provides grants to help U.S. Catholic religious congregations support their elderly and infirm members, presented Holy Cross Health President and CEO Norvell V. Coots, M.D., with the 2022 Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Award at its Nov. 2, 2022, SOAR Gala in Washington, D.C.

This award recognizes Dr. Coots’ lifelong commitment to providing compassionate health care. He is one of only 43 members of a national network of individuals recognized for their contributions to ensuring the safety and dignity of aging and infirm Catholic sisters, brothers and priests. In addition to leading Holy Cross Health, Dr. Coots is a board-certified dermatologist, is Chairman of the Board of Maryland Physicians Care, Chairs the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center Research Hospital Board, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Maryland Hospital Association. He also is proud to have served our country and is a retired Brigadier General of the U.S. Army.

Holy Cross Health is pleased to be a sponsor of this year’s SOAR gala in honor of our founders, the Sisters of the Holy Cross, whose dedication to meeting community need has driven the mission of Holy Cross Health for 60 years.
