Safe, Supportive, Daily Aging Adult Services
When you or a loved one have a chronic health problem or are recovering from an acute illness, Holy Cross Medical Adult Day Center can provide a safe, supportive environment for adult daily care and a viable alternative to nursing home residential care. Seniors can continue to live at home and spend their days in a structured, senior-focused activity center while giving caregivers needed respite.
Services
The Holy Cross Medical Adult Day Center, open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, provides a full scope of aging adult services including medical, social, rehabilitative, and recreational programs focused on compassion, quality of life, and safety for older adults.
The center provides senior health services by a full-time registered nurse (RN) specially trained in caring for seniors. With specific focus on geriatrics, the RN has expertise in caring for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, stroke, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, depression, and heart disease. In addition, the center’s medical director makes frequent visits and is available for consultation.
Our nurse can provide a variety of services on-site including:
- Administering medications
- Arranging laboratory and podiatry services
- Assistance eating and using the restroom
- Monitoring weight, diet, and blood-pressure
Our full-time social worker provides family support services. And the center’s full-time activity aides have developed recreational programs to encourage social interaction, improve participants’ physical well-being, stimulate cognitive functioning and decrease depression. What you will find at our center:
- Group discussions on a wide range of subjects
- A daily exercise program both for maintaining wellness and for therapeutic purposes
- Entertainment, including a variety of musical presentations, art, reminiscing groups, and comedy programs
- Guest speakers from community organizations
- Health awareness talks
- Organized games of Bingo, cards, and trivia, as well as lively team events

This trial period gives everyone a chance to interact and for you to see what our center offers. The center will also provide references upon request.
