Holy Cross Germantown Hospital brings much-needed emergency services to Northern Montgomery County
Holy Cross Germantown Hospital is designated a Primary Stroke Center by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) and offers the only full-service Germantown, Md., emergency room.
The hospital’s emergency room cares for all age groups and special populations who present with emergent or urgent care needs. It is staffed by a team of board-certified emergency medicine physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and patient care technicians. It features an array of emergency services including:
- Acute care for patients with critical injuries or emergency medical conditions
- Rapid diagnosis and treatment of patients with less serious medical issues
- Care for patients who require extended monitoring, but not inpatient hospitalization, and a decontamination room
- Emergency psychiatric care and crisis intervention, which may include admission to the hospital’s inpatient adult Behavioral Health Unit
