Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

COVID-19 Information Holy Cross Health

Safety is one of our core values, a top priority. Holy Cross Health is committed to safely caring for the communities we serve, informed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state, and local guidelines. Our hospital Emergency Centers are fully operational to care for any emergent needs, with alternate care spaces set up to triage patients who arrive with COVID-19-related symptoms. (Note: Holy Cross Health is not providing testing for people who do not have COVID-19 symptoms who wish to be tested, e.g., for travel, work, or school; please refer to the Montgomery County website for area testing locations.) We’re taking extra precautions to keep you and our staff safe and we encourage patients to contact their providers regarding any appointments, procedures, or screenings. COVID-19 Testing Back to Top

Patients arriving at Holy Cross Hospital or Holy Cross Germantown Hospital Emergency Centers with COVID-19 symptoms will be evaluated by an emergency room physician prior to getting tested.

If you are not showing any symptoms and only seek COVID-19 testing for travel, school, work, or other non-emergent reasons, consult with your doctor or find a testing center in Maryland. While our hospitals have COVID-19 testing capacity for patients, our sites are not currently serving as travel/school/other COVID-19 testing centers or taking appointments for testing.

For more information on COVID-19 testing in Montgomery County, visit the county's COVID-19 Information Portal, call their COVID-19 Call Center at 240-777-2982, or visit the Maryland Department of Health's website.

COVID-19 Diagnostic Test Pricing

During these unprecedented times, it is important for you to know the costs of COVID-19 diagnostic testing. Holy Cross Health's COVID-19 laboratory test cash price is $51.31 or $100 depending on the type of test, as mandated statewide by the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission. Each test conducted will be billed. Patients are not required to pay for COVID-19 laboratory tests. The cash price is the price that will be charged to third-party payers. The amount charged is also subject to adjustment if the test is performed by a government agency. Learn more about charge estimates.
