Are you a recent mom? Feeling sad or depressed? Feeling alone?
The most common illness following childbirth is postpartum depression (PPD). It’s often characterized by:
- frequent crying
- sleep problems
- appetite changes
- negative, scary thoughts
- feelings of inadequacy
We invite you to come and share your feelings, fears and experiences with other mothers who are also experiencing PPD. Why? Because you shouldn’t go through this alone.
The group’s facilitator is a volunteer trained through Postpartum Support International to be a skilled listener. She is not a trained counselor or psychologist.
The Postpartum Depression Support Group meets on the first and third Sunday of the month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Holy Cross Resource Center, located at 9805 Dameron Drive, Silver Spring, MD.
