Most people suffer from some form of pain at some time in their lives. Most have their pain managed well by conventional (i.e., over-the-counter) methods. However, many others suffer from chronic, intractable pain - so intense that they find it difficult to work, sleep, or participate in family life or other relationships.
At the Holy Cross Hospital Pain Management Center, we strive to effectively manage pain and increase your ability to return to normal daily functions, get a good night's sleep, and interact positively with family members.
We are committed to providing state-of-the-art care with individualized treatment of the whole person, through evaluation and treatment of all types of pain utilizing all resources available. Our goal is to achieve maximum functional capabilities through proper management of pain in those persons turning to us for their care. We ensure that evaluation and treatment individualized to the needs of each patient, as well as his or her disease.
The role of the pain management physician is to help identify the underlying cause of the pain, and when options for cure are not available, to reduce the devastating impact that chronic pain has on your life. All of the center's physicians are board certified in pain management.
Understanding pain and all the factors that can affect level of pain is essential to your care. We pride ourselves in education of our patients to their problem and treatment options as well as providing educational material and research sources.
