Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that some women develop during pregnancy. It is one of the most common health problems of pregnancy.
Holy Cross Hospital's Gestational Diabetes Education Program offers individualized one-on-one instruction to help you learn how to manage gestational diabetes. You can meet with a diabetes educator who is a registered nurse, and a dietitian, for education on why blood sugars may become abnormally high, how to maintain a healthy pregnancy, monitoring blood sugars, meal planning, adding insulin to the treatment plan and what to expect after your baby is born.
