Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that some women develop during pregnancy. It is one of the most common health problems of pregnancy.
Holy Cross Health's Gestational Diabetes Education Program at Holy Cross Hospital offers individualized one-on-one instruction to help you learn how to manage gestational diabetes. You can meet with a diabetes educator who is a registered nurse, and a dietitian, for education on why blood sugars may become abnormally high, how to maintain a healthy pregnancy, monitoring blood sugars, meal planning, adding insulin to the treatment plan and what to expect after your baby is born.
