Family and Caregiver Resources: Support, Education, Help and Hope
Families caring for seniors, living with aging parents, or caring for a seriously ill or dying family member often find themselves in a challenging and unpredictable role. They face a host of caregiver issues—but with the help of experts who understand the needs of the elderly and access to a variety of family support services, they can navigate this difficult time in their lives.
Holy Cross Hospital’s family and caregiver services are empowering caregivers with information, emotional and spiritual support—and links to critical resources. We’re advocates for seniors—and serve their needs in many ways. If you are caring for an elderly relative or friend who is ill or disabled it is our mission to give you the resources you need to provide this important service for your loved one.
We offer support groups and educational classes for caregivers, help for those caring for a terminally ill patient, and spiritual and practical advice as you cope with the loss of a loved one.
Our Medical Adult Day Center gives caregivers needed respite. And if you are far away from a family member or friend who is hospitalized at Holy Cross Hospital, our unique virtual visiting service keeps you connected with real-time, visual communication.
The hospital’s Caregiver Resource Center houses a library with books, audiotapes and videotapes on caregiver issues and health-related topics, and brochures from local service providers—and you can sign up for our free caregiver newsletter to keep you up-to-date on the latest books, classes and local resources.
