You can avoid harmful interactions by telling your doctor about all the medications and supplements you use: over-the-counter, prescription and herbal. A medication list can help you remember and record all the medicines and supplements you are taking and help to prevent medication errors in the hospital.

Our pharmacy department uses evidence-based guidelines to ensure the correct administration of medications. Our automated adverse drug event alert system issues a warning when a potentially dangerous drug or combination of drugs has been ordered. Our infusion pumps also include “guardrails” to ensure the safety of drug delivery. These "smart pumps" alert clinicians when drug doses are ordered outside of the normal range, thus preventing administration errors.
