Senior Services
Holy Cross Hospital is leading not only the state of Maryland
but the nation in introducing specialized medicine that meets the specific
needs of patients 65 and older, their families and caregivers.
We've assembled a highly skilled team of medical professionals who specialize
in geriatric medicine, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists
and social workers. And we've introduced unique services that combine patient-friendly
features with the best practice of medicine for older adults.
In 2008, we introduced the country's first Seniors
Emergency Center, a dedicated
space created to reduce anxiety in patients while offering them the finest care.
In 2009, we opened our onsite Seniors
Ambulatory Surgery Center, with specialized
services that take patients, families and caregivers from preparing for surgery
to the operating room and on to recovery.
Our diverse and far-reaching range of services offer care at every level: healthy-aging
programs, at-home care, inpatient services, support services for caregivers and
care at the end of life. The philosophy that guides us is simple: we offer patients
the quality care, dignity, safety and comfort they deserve.
