Child Life Specialist
Our certified child life specialist is trained
to care for the developmental, emotional and social needs of children
and to help facilitate trust between pediatric patients and the health
care team.
Our child life specialist provides a variety of
activities to help prepare children for their medical experience, such
as medical play, coping strategies for difficult times, and therapeutic
and recreational activities. The child life specialist uses toys, games,
art supplies, video games and computers from the center’s playroom to engage
children in therapeutic and recreational activities.
