The Holy Cross Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a beautiful, new 147-bed facility located in Burtonsville, Maryland, offering long-term nursing, rehabilitative, and medical care to patients who no longer require acute hospital care, but are not well enough to return to their homes. Patients who are cared for at the center include those with orthopedic, multiple trauma, respiratory, renal failure, endocrinological, or oncological conditions.
Opened in December 1997, the Holy Cross Rehabilitation and Nursing Center offers specialized services to enhance the dignity and personal development of each resident. In keeping with the mission of Holy Cross Health, spiritual counseling, guidance, and assistance along with help with ethical decisions are available for people of all faiths. The center has an onsite chapel where family members and friends are invited to join their loved ones for worship.
To provide consistency, which we believe is a cornerstone of quality health care; we hire dedicated, full-time employees instead of using outside contractors. The quality of care available at the Holy Cross Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is further enhanced with a multitude of activities, special meals, and a beautiful physical environment.
Levels of Care
Skilled Nursing Care
Skilled nursing care, which requires a physician’s order, encompasses the most intensive nursing and rehabilitation services that can be provided outside a hospital setting.
Comprehensive Nursing Care
Comprehensive nursing care offers 24-hour nursing services to persons who require institutional care above the level of room and board, but not at the intensity of skilled nursing care.
Rehabilitation Services
The purpose of rehabilitation is to return people to their maximum functional status following a sudden illness, injury, or the furthering of a disease process. Most patients admitted to Holy Cross Rehabilitation and Nursing Center’s rehabilitation program will return directly to their homes; others will continue therapy at home, and some will progress to a level at which they can enter a hospital-based rehabilitation program.
