The Holy Cross Postpartum Doula Program
Postpartum doulas are caregivers who specialize in providing general
support to mothers and babies during the immediate postpartum period.
Our doulas facilitate the recovery of new mothers by assisting them with a variety of everyday tasks and enabling them to rest as much as possible.
Some services the doulas provide are:
- Instruction in baby basics and newborn care
- Breastfeeding/bottle-feeding support
- Answers to general parenting questions
- Guidance with issues like postpartum depression
- Assistance with many household tasks, including laundry, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and other light errands
In addition, postpartum doulas are trained to address home and child safety issues.
Scheduling Postpartum Doulas
You can schedule your postpartum doula anytime, although we recommend
that you make a reservation prior to your delivery.
In order to guarantee the service, a deposit is required at the time
of reservation. The balance is due the first day of service.
