Maternity Center
Maternal/Child Health Home Care

Holy Cross Hospital offers a wide range of home care services for expectant mothers, new mothers and their newborns.

Some of these services might be covered by your insurance plan and others are provided on a fee-for-service basis. If you are interested in any of these services and cost is an issue, check with your insurer for coverage options. Financial arrangements with the hospital are also available.

Prenatal Services
Our high-risk prenatal services include monitoring for preeclampsia, premature labor, betamethasone injections and IV home therapy for hyperemesis.

Postpartum Services
Our postpartum services include early discharge follow-up, maternal assessment, infant assessment, lessons in newborn care and lessons in self-care.

Postpartum doulas provide general support to mothers after they have given birth and returned home. They can provide instruction in baby basics, newborn care, and home and child safety issues; support for breastfeeding/bottle-feeding; support for issues like postpartum depression; and answer general parenting questions.

Mother/baby aides can assist with hands-on baby care and household tasks including laundry, feedings, light housework and respite care.

You can schedule these services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We recommend that you make a reservation prior to your delivery.

Neonatal Services
Our neonatal services include follow-up post-operative or post-hospitalization follow-up; laboratory monitoring; enteral (tube) feeding, teaching and support; teaching and support for new diagnoses; asthma management; dressing changes; and physical, occupational and speech therapies.

Private Home Services
Often women who are recovering from childbirth discover that they cannot do everything for themselves like they used to. Holy Cross Private Home Services, Corp., a licensed residential service agency (RSA), can offer some assistance by providing personal care services to patients in the comfort of their home.
