A Multinational, Randomized, Double-blind
Study Comparing Efficacy of Aflibercept Once Every 2 Weeks versus Placebo
in Patients with Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (MCRC) Treated with Irinotecan/5-FU
Combination (FOLFIRI) after failure of an Oxaliplatin Based Regimen
(VELOUR)
What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of this study is to determine whether
a new drug combined
with standard chemotherapy can increase progression free and overall
survival.
Am I a candidate for this study?
- Are you 18 years or older?
- Have you been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the colon or rectum?
- Have you had only one prior chemotherapeutic regimen?
What do I need to do?
- Provide a medical and surgical history.
- Agree to clinical examinations that include vital signs, laboratory
tests (urine, blood).
- Agree to diagnostic exams such as CT, MRI or X-ray.
- Agree to be randomized (like a coin toss) to a particular treatment
regimen.
- Agree to receive chemotherapy.
