Sanctuary at Holy Cross, a rehabilitation and nursing center, has adopted the SanctuaryTM Model of Care in order to make senior living vibrant, self-directed and purposeful. This model helps us to ensure that elderly and rehabilitation patients are healing-both physically and mentally-in the most caring environment possible.

This beautiful facility, located in Burtonsville, Md., offers long-term nursing, rehabilitative and medical care to patients who no longer require acute hospital care, but are not well enough to return to their homes. Patients who are cared for at the center include those with orthopedic, multiple trauma, respiratory, renal failure, endocrinological or oncologic conditions. Compassionate care is provided in a healing environment, with short- and long-term rehabilitation services available, as well as personalized nursing and memory care, including hospice and respite services. The center focuses on strengthening the body, mind and spirit. This approach is reflected in the special attention and care every resident receives.

Sanctuary at Holy Cross, formerly known as Holy Cross Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and its parent company, Trinity Senior Living Communities, have been serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for more than 10 years.

Rehabilitation Services

Nursing Care
Sanctuary at Holy Cross offers personalized care programs that are designed to meet the specific needs of each individual resident. We strive to restore each individual to a maximum level of independence.

Activities
Sanctuary at Holy Cross offers an array of activities to engage all patients. We get to know the likes and desires of our residents and then build our program to meet their individual needs. Social, recreational and therapeutic activities are provided daily. Our experienced activity staff offers a variety of group activities as well as individual room visits for those who would prefer a more intimate setting.

Hospice
Sanctuary at Holy Cross partners with Holy Cross Hospital to provide an inpatient hospice unit. While being cared for on our hospice unit, the patient is routinely seen by the nursing center's staff as well as members of the Holy Cross Hospice staff. Hospice staff is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making regular visits to assess the patient and ensure that they remain comfortable.
