For Visitors
Visiting Guidelines
Holy Cross Hospital provides a caring and healing environment
for each of our patients. We know that patients benefit greatly from
the loving support of visitors who help them on their way to recovery.
We kindly ask that visitors abide by our Visiting Guidelines to ensure
the well-being and safety of all our patients.
- Holy Cross Hospital has open
visiting hours, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The medical and
nursing staff may make exceptions for visiting based on the patient’s
condition and to best meet the patient’s needs. Some units have
specific criteria for visiting patients. To confirm visiting guidelines
or discuss special circumstances prior to your visit, please call 301.754.7000 and ask to speak with a nurse at the nurses' station in the hospital
department you plan to visit. Please discuss overnight stays with the
patient’s nurse
or nurse manager.
- Visitor badges are distributed
at the information desk and must be displayed at all times while
in the hospital.
- Children under 12 years of
age must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times
while visiting the hospital.
- In consideration of patients
sharing semi-private rooms, please limit visitors to two persons
at a time.
- If a caregiver needs to treat
a patient, to ensure the privacy of the patient at all times, we
request all visitors to leave the room during a procedure until
the treatment or procedure is completed.
- We ask visitors who have had
recent exposure to a communicable disease or exhibit signs and
symptoms such as fever, undiagnosed rash or cough, or nasal discharge,
to postpone their visit until they are healthy.
- To protect everyone, please
wash your hands before and after coming in contact with patients.
