Join us for these free lectures hosted by Holy Cross Hospital neuroscience physicians to learn about a variety of neurological conditions and the latest prevention and treatment options. All lectures will take place at the Holy Cross Hospital Professional and Community Education Center at 1500 Forest Glen Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910. 

Stroke Prevention
May 28, 6- 8 p.m.
Dr. Shahid Rafiq, medical director, Neurology and Stroke, will discuss changes you can make now to prevent a stroke from occurring in the future.

June 25, 6- 8 p.m.
Dr. Gregory Mathews, epileptologist and medical director, EEG, will describe the types of epilepsy and available treatment options.

July 23, 6- 8 p.m.
Anil Narang, DO, will discuss new advances in imaging of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia with an emphasis on PET imaging.

Management of Brain Tumors with Stereotactic Radiation
September 27, 6- 8 p.m.
Daniel Clarke, MD, radiation oncology, will discuss stereotactic radiosurgery, a precise way to deliver high doses of radiation to treat select benign and malignant brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia and AV malformations.

Amin Amini, MD, neurosurgery, will speak on the most common diseases of the neck (cervical spine), including arthritis and disc herniation, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
