Nearly 50 years ago, Holy Cross Hospital opened as a 226-bed acute care general service hospital. Today, with 442 beds and caring for more than 196,000 patients each year, it is one of the largest hospitals in the state of Maryland. And it continues to grow. By enlarging and modernizing its facility in Silver Spring and building a new hospital in Germantown, Holy Cross Hospital will be able to continue to provide high-quality health care for the next 50 years and beyond.
Silver Spring Renovation and Modernization
Holy Cross Hospital is currently building a new seven-story, 234,000 square-foot, patient care building with 150 private rooms on the south side of the hospital. Also on the Silver Spring campus, there will be enhancements to emergency and surgical services, and an expansion of parking capacity. The project is scheduled for completion in 2015.
