Holy Cross Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in Maryland, is expanding to continue to meet the health care needs of the community. By enlarging and modernizing the facility, Holy Cross Hospital will be able to continue to provide high-quality health care to the growing population in the region.
Private Rooms
A new seven-story, 234,000 square-foot, patient care building with 150 private rooms will be constructed on the south side of the hospital. The additional space will ensure that patients throughout the hospital have private rooms.
Private rooms increase patient comfort and the involvement of family members in care, while also decreasing the risk of infections and the number of hours that ambulances are diverted when monitored beds are unavailable.
Surgical Services Modernization and Expansion
The surgical services area of the hospital will be renovated for greater efficiency and comfort for both physicians and patients. Patients and their families will benefit from additional space both before and after surgery.
Environmental Sustainability
The hospital expansion will promote environmental sustainability through the installation of an up-to-date energy system. On the ground floor, a new central utility plant will be constructed with greatly enhanced energy efficiency and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver designation.
Increased Parking
The hospital will add 300 parking spaces to the existing parking garage to increase convenience for patients and employees. |
