GATE Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery Training

Holy Cross Hospital houses the GATE Institute, a specialized training center for physicians who perform minimally invasive procedures. The GATE Institute's nationally recognized faculty members combine hands-on surgical training with telemedicine and videoconferencing to bring the benefits of minimally invasive surgery to physicians and their patients across the nation. GATE Institute programs offer participants the opportunity to gain expertise in the latest instrumentation and equipment in areas such as OB/GYN, orthopedics, neuroscience and general surgery. Since its inception more than 20 years ago, the GATE Institute has trained thousands of physicians and other medical professionals from hospitals all over the country.

Overview:
This program is intended for all health care providers involved with gynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and women’s health. Gynecologists, obstetrician/gynecologists, gynecologic oncologists and urogynecologists in practice and in training (residents and fellows) as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and technicians and other allied health care professionals in the fields of gynecology, surgery and oncology are welcome.

Learn about the latest gynecologic advancements from nationally renowned speakers and enjoy a luxurious and beautiful setting on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. This symposium is designed to equip the surgeon and the surgical team with critical knowledge and skills allowing them to effectively incorporate minimally invasive surgery into practice. National faculty will increase the participant’s knowledge and skill through a combination of didactic education, video illustrations of technique and a hands-on skill lab. Participants must select and attend one of three breakout sessions in order to receive full CME/CEU credit: A-Generosity Toward the Self; B-Suturing Lab; C-Hysteroscopy and Energy Lab.

Accommodations and Transportation
Until April 2, a limited number of rooms are available at the Hyatt Regency on Friday, April 20, Saturday, April 21, and Sunday, April 22, for a group rate of $199 per night plus a $15 activity fee and taxes.
Reserve a room at the Hyatt online or call 888-421-1442. Alternate hotel options include Days Inn (410-228-4444) and Holiday Inn Express (410-221-9900). BayRunner Shuttle (410-912-6000) is suggested for attendees who need transportation from BWI airport.

Conference Fees and Registration:
Registration is required and limited. Fees include Saturday breakfast, lunch and reception, and Sunday breakfast. The last day to register is April 16, 2012.
