The 2012 Holy Cross Hospital Gala will be held on October 13, 2012. Save the Date!
More than 650 guest attended the 2011 Holy Cross Hospital Gala on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Marriott Wardman Park. Dr. JC Hayward, noon anchor of WUSA-TV9 news, emceed the event. Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO, Kevin Sexton was the featured speaker.
The Gala raised more than $700,000 for the hospital's two construction projects in Germantown and Silver Spring, and net proceeds were an all-time record. Attendees bid on more than 100 silent and live auction items - many donated by Holy Cross Hospital employees in more than two dozen units. And, our special "Gift from the Heart" appeal to fund the first new patient room of the expansion campaign broke all previous records.
At the Gala, the hospital bestowed its Cornerstone Award upon Susan G. Komen for The Cure® in recognition of its contributions to Community Health of more than $1.3 million to fund breast health navigation, screening and follow-up care.
The success of Gala 2011 would not have been possible without the hard work and support of sponsors, attendees, committee members, physicians, trustees, staff, volunteers, vendors and donors, led by co-chairs Tammy Darvish and Vandana Trehan, and physician co-chairs Dr. Sheela Modin and Dr. Ram Trehan.
