Radiologic Tech Home Admissions Process Curriculum Mission Statement Tuition and Fees

Admissions Process
Applications are accepted from October 1 to March 1. There is a non-refundable $30 application fee. Applications postmarked after March 1 will not be accepted. Applicants must be a high school graduate or have successfully completed a standard equivalency test (GED) and completed general education college credit requirements. Applicants will be scheduled for an entrance examination in March/April. Applicants must score in the 25 percentile or higher for Total Academic Aptitude to be considered for an interview. Those Applicants who do not score in the acceptable range will be notified in writing of failure to qualify. Applicants who pass the aptitude test must schedule a mandatory observation day and submit a 500-word essay on “Why I want to be a Radiologic Technologist.” The essay, three letters of character reference (references must not be related to applicant), and transcripts are due at the time of their observation day.

Interview Process
Those applicants which have scored in the 25 percentile or higher for Total Academic Aptitude, and have attended a four-hour observation day, will then be scheduled for a panel interview with the program director, clinical coordinator, communities of interest and administrators from Medical Imaging.

Admission Procedure
Students will be selected based on the following criteria:

•  25 percentile for Total Academic Aptitude achieved on the PSB Testing
• Overall interview with Faculty and Staff
• Completion of health physical
• Completion of Radiation protection test
• Mandatory observation day/clinical exam
• Attendance of mandatory orientation

Applicants will be notified in writing of their acceptance in May. There will be an orientation in June at which time the prospective students will be given the student handbook, enrollment agreement and all pertinent information pertaining to the School of Radiologic Technology. The prospective student will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with present students and current staff while orientating. After the applicant has been given the policies and procedures they will have two weeks to consider the program and sign the enrollment agreement. The enrollment agreement must be returned by the deadline given at the orientation.

ADA Criteria for Essential job Function

• Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to work with computer keyboard and monitor to perform essential job functions
• Must be able to hear and verbally communicate with the telephone for essential duties involving receiving and giving information
• Must be able to lift, carry for short distances, push or pull a card weighing in excess of 75 pounds to perform essential job functions
