Kevin J. Sexton, president and CEO of Holy Cross Health, was an honoree at Seabury Resources for Aging’s signature Leadership in Aging Celebration at the National Press Club on June 1, 2014. The celebration recognizes individuals, organizations and communities who have furthered Seabury’s mission to help older adults live with independence and dignity.

The honorees included: Kevin J. Sexton; Donna M. Butts, executive director of Generations United; and Ian Kremer, executive director of Leaders Engaged on Alzheimer’s Disease (LEAD) Coalition.

Proceeds benefit all of Seabury Resources for Aging’s housing and services and particularly help low income older adults who need care management, meals, housing, care and help with home maintenance.

“I am pleased that Holy Cross Health has been recognized by an organization like Seabury with its  history and a reputation of being innovative and adaptable to the needs of seniors,” Sexton said.

“I admire Seabury for its long-standing service to seniors and especially for finding ways to keep people as healthy and active as possible and helping them to live the way they wish.”

Under Sexton’s leadership, Holy Cross Health has been a pioneer in senior health services. This includes the development of the first Seniors Emergency Center in the U.S., a Seniors Surgery Center, and an Acute Care for Elderly (ACE) program. In addition, Holy Cross Health offers numerous home and community based fitness/wellness and disease prevention and management programs specifically for seniors.

Mr. Sexton has served as Director of Management and Budget, in the Federal Health Care Financing Administration, the precursor organization to CMS.  He has held other senior positions, including President of the MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and at The Lewin Group, where he directed the healthcare organization practice.

Sexton graduated from Georgetown University and earned his master's in public administration at Harvard University.
