Holy Cross Hospital cares for more stroke patients than any other hospital in Montgomery County and has been recertified as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, meaning we continue to offer the best care possible for stroke patients.
To maintain this distinction from The Joint Commission, which is the chief accrediting body for healthcare organizations in the United States, Holy Cross Hospital had to demonstrate compliance with national standards of care for stroke patients. We also are recognized by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
Holy Cross Hospital’s specially trained stroke response team is available for stroke evaluation and treatment 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses and support staff is prepared to care for the unique needs of patients showing signs of stroke.
If you or someone with you shows one or more signs of stroke, including trouble speaking, confusion, or difficulty seeing or walking, call 911. Immediate care can improve the chance of recovery.
