I Belong at Holy Cross Hospital

Sometimes you need to make a change to know how good you’ve got it. Years ago, I left Holy Cross Hospital to pursue another interest. When I returned a few years later, I felt like I was back where I belonged. It’s a good group people and a great place to work.

One of my most memorable work experiences at Holy Cross Hospital happened about three years ago. A couple had come to Holy Cross Hospital to deliver their baby. The couple was hearing impaired and had brought a special device with them so they could connect with their friends and family during their hospital stay.

Unfortunately, the hospital’s computer security devices were interfering with the couple’s specialized equipment. My department was able to set up a hospital computer with Internet access in their room so the couple could see and communicate with their loved-ones—online in real time. The couple was very happy and thankful. Personally, it felt great to turn a frustrating situation for the couple into a very positive experience for them.

On a more personal note, I was born at Holy Cross Hospital in 1974. In 1986, my brother, Zach, followed suit, and two years later in 1988, so did my sister, Julie. And to top it all off, in 2011, my son, Nicholas, was born at Holy Cross Hospital.
