Physician, Nurse and Staff Education Programs
The hospital hosts physician residency programs affiliated with George Washington University and Children's National Medical Center. Through its nursing residency program, the hospital also educates students from 13 nursing programs and houses a state-of-the-art Nursing Simulation Laboratory.
Through a partnership with Marymount University, Holy Cross Hospital offers to employees three on-site academic programs, including a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) program for registered nurses (RN), a master of science in nursing (MSN) program, and a master of healthcare management program. Holy Cross Hospital also operates a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program.
Professional and Community Education Center
The Professional and Community Education Center (PCEC) at Holy Cross Hospital is a 13,000 square-foot conference and meeting room facility offering the latest in conferencing and business meeting accommodations for clinicians and community members.
Anchoring the west side of Holy Cross Hospital, the education center consists of four medium to large classrooms, three consultation rooms and a 250-seat divisible auditorium. The hospital houses the GATE Institute, a specialized training center for physicians who perform minimally invasive procedures. The GATE Institute's nationally recognized faculty members combine hands-on surgical training with telemedicine and videoconferencing to bring the benefits of minimally invasive surgery to physicians and their patients across the nation. Since its inception nearly 20 years ago, the GATE Institute has trained thousands of physicians and other medical professionals from hospitals all over the country.
