Dear Neighbors:
 Holy Cross Hospital has received final approval from the Maryland Health Care Commission to establish a hospital in Germantown on the Montgomery College campus. We are honored to be selected to build the first new hospital in Montgomery County in more than 30 years and to be contributing to a better future for the health of our region.
This location is ideal. We will bring much-needed health care services to the most rapidly growing and aging region of the county. When it opens, the new 93-bed private-room hospital will offer medical, surgical, obstetric, emergency and psychiatric care.
We will help train the next generation of nurses and health care workers through an innovative partnership with Montgomery College. At a time when Maryland is facing a shortage of 10,000 nurses, the college will be able to double the number of nurses it graduates each year.
The hospital also will provide a significant boost to the county and state economies. Once we secure permits and break ground, the construction of the hospital will generate immediate jobs and millions of dollars for local businesses. Over time, the hospital and the Science and Technology Center it supports will help to create nearly 6,000 jobs.
We are grateful to the community and offer special appreciation to the thousands of community members and Holy Cross Hospital employees, medical staff and volunteers who supported a new hospital. We are excited to be turning this vision into reality - making a difference for the people of Montgomery County today and in the years ahead.
